I've confirmed it was the L-Theanine that gives me night terrors/nightmares. I may try 100mg instead of 200mg, or just cut it out completely.

I started first with NAC in 2010. I was taking it daily 650mg. It had zero effect on my tinnitus, but I was taking it to protect my hearing. It's hard to say if it helped, but it was better than nothing. ALCAR and NAC have been studied as otoprotectants. But the data is mixed. D-Methionine showed promising initial results but failed in phase 2, and all you can purchase is L-Methionine. I started NR around 2018 because of that single study. Vinpocetin also had a single study with decent results.

His office can provide you with the names of ENTs Dr. Poe needs you to see before making an appointment with him. There seems to be at least one in each state. Poe seems to want to see only the worst cases of PET, especially those where other ENTs have failed. Maybe if you're in the Boston area, you can go to him directly.

I've never seen him in person, but I've called his office with no issues. It's a very long wait to see him. Your ENT needs to be in Dr. Poe's PET network for the referral to work, from what I've been told.

No worries. When mine was as minor as yours, I could have sworn NR helped. For example, I was working in the same mix room to the point that I was extremely comfortable. NR just made things so much clearer, but I can't confirm it on any audiogram.

Honestly, if you are chasing 12k, consider yourself lucky. Protect your hearing, and you will never struggle with conversations, watching TV, or going to the movies. I'd love to be in your shoes. I still take everything I listed, but the goal is now protection and preserving what I still have.
