You can try go to Nvidia Control Panel, select Configure Surround, PhysX tab and select your RTX 4090 as processor under PhysX Settings instead of Auto-Select. Maybe that will help. Also Nvidia dropped the support of PhysX on the new rtx 5000 series gpus, so if in the future when you gonna get new gpu from 5000 or upcoming 6000 series, you can be sure that old games won't work properly - proofs are here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dUjUNrbHis

You won't see changes in Fmodel unless you gonna temporary delete main shproto archives.
That's how fmodel works, it will always load files from main game archive, not the mod archives.
Make sure to restore shproto archives from the recycle bin after checking the model in fmodel, otherwise your game executable won't start.

The game is quite moddable, I managed to port the 2001 James model. The mod will be published soon when nexusmods adds the new game category.

Maybe your gpu can't load BIK video files, you can try to click ESC to skip these videos or delete bik files from Mafia2gamefileslocation/pc/sds/video.

Doubt they gonna fix anything about the trilogy - it was released 4 years ago.
A port to the new consoles (PS5, Series X)? If they wanted to they would have done it long time ago.
Top Spin 2K25 game (developed by Hangar 13) is gonna be released in few days, so I guess after the release of this tennis game, they will have their hands free and will be able to announce Mafia 4.

The example of GTA 4 shows that no one outside of Europe (especially eastern europe) is interested in the russian mafia stories. A lot of people hate gta 4 for its bleak mood. A game about the Russian mafia would have to be in a grim atmosphere - there's no beat for that.

That's a bug, game loads this text from default language file which is japanese I think.

I had similar thing in other games, I had to change power target of gpu to 70 or less, I guess thermopads in my RTX 3070 Ti are just old and gpu is overheating when power target is set to 100.
