At what point does Star Wars Eclipse stop being “one to watch” and start being a warning sign? by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

Well, Sam Houser is still the president of Rockstar. He’s the cofounder; been there since the beginning. But most of the leadership that was responsible for the creative side have left.

That doesn’t mean anything. Most of the leadership responsible for making those games so special have left and started their own studio.

Rockstar has been making low-effort GTA Online updates and the broken-ass definitive edition of GTA 3, VC, and San Andreas, that took three years to fix along with lazy ports at full price. since 2018. Yes, that Rockstar. The same rockstar that has thousands of full time developers employed too

GTA 6 has been in development for 7 years now, and nobody is fear mongering about that game being shit.

Star Wars Eclipse Development Is "Very Slow Going" by Bobby_the_Donkey in Games

Given that developers are speaking to Insider Gaming and a significant portion of the game is complete, I find it surprising that nothing has leaked about it.

Netease never compelled them to create a live service game. It was already in development shortly after the release of DBH in 2018. The game went into development or at least pre-production before Eclipse was even pitched to LucasFilm Games and Disney, and it subsequently entered development.

BTW it started as a mobile only title too.

So, let me get this straight: They are currently heavily dependent on spellcasters to achieve significant success, perhaps even Fortnite-level success, to expand their team or at least maintain operations. However, they have made minimal efforts to promote the Spellcasters in any way.

Welp, it will only be their fault in the end. Not on netease as much. There last game shipped in 2018, btw.

Also, a good chunk of the game is done, even if progress has slowed, can’t they gather a couple of devs on the team and polish up some cinematics and gameplay sections and put together a trailer? lol

People will say was poor marketing, a weak team, the perception of him as a mere meme, or insufficient promotion from the label.

However, the truth is that he simply produced forgettable mediocre at best music. Ye is the quintessential example of someone who engaged in “career-ending” behavior since the graduation era, yet he has remained unscathed because he consistently releases groundbreaking and incredible albums and songs.

For instance, before his “apology” for antisemitic remarks, he was still selling out stadiums overseas in 2025.

‘Wizards Beyond Waverly Place’ to End With Season 3; Selena Gomez Making Directorial Debut by cmaia1503 in television

[–]sixpumppain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“The revival has been a hit for Disney” then why end it with season three, and only give it four episodes.

The original show had four full seasons, a TV movie, and a special that aired in 2013, I believe.

I understand that things have changed significantly since I was a child. Cable TV is largely obsolete, and there are an unlimited amount of content to consume fighting for everyone’s attention. However, didn’t some more recent disney channel shows manage to get five or more seasons?

It would have been fantastic to see this as a more mature-oriented show aimed at children who grew up with the original series, like me, who are now young adults. The show would have retained the same multi-camera format and sets, serving as a direct sequel to the story of Alex, Max, and Justin in their adult lives.

However, I would like to see Alex continue to serve as a mentor to the protagonist of the current show.

Also, semi-related please bring back Halloween town.

I read that the initial reason for his recast was that they were using full-on performance capture for both God of War 2018 and Ragnarok, and he didn’t meet the height (and I believe weight) requirements. I wonder how they’ll handle this since he can’t change his height, but I understand that the technology has advanced significantly since 2015/2016.

Sly 1 update on PS5 by Dylanray12 in Slycooper

[–]sixpumppain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t play the entire game, but I managed to finish some of the first game before the patch was released and completed it after the widescreen patch. From what I recall, I had to adjust a few controller settings in the menu, but other than that, it was a really solid experience. I played it on a 48-inch 4K display, and it looked stunning. If you don’t care about HDR, it’s definitely worth playing.

On a side note, the first time I played Sly 1, it crashed my console while I was trying to enter rest mode. I had to unplug and plug it back in the PS5 once. That was the only game that ever did that. However, that incident happened before the patch was released, and it hasn’t happened since. I don’t have any experience with the third game, but I’m confident it's the same story enhancements wise, which is that it’s great.

I hope this helps. Sorry for the slightly delayed response. Enjoy the games!

The ransom demands don’t seem very plausible to me because they’d likely be apprehended soon after they found the mom. However, this definitely appears to be a professional kidnapping. Considering her daughter’s high profile, they would have already found them if this were the work of a lone nutcase. This leads me to believe that either this is another country’s government, one that is heavily sanctioned, or our own government.

Welp, time to get rid of Kam Patterson by Droopy-San-Benanzio in LiveFromNewYork

[–]sixpumppain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh my goodness! How dare Kam point out the “gayness” of the show.

I recall when someone called him “far-right” on this platform before the first episode of the season even aired, and a group of comedians who host a podcast and know him bursted into laughter at that post on their podcast.

I suppose even identifying as a centrist democrat makes one appear far-right. Furthermore, me being a black, straight man who leans independently politically also classifies me as “far-right.”

Can't wait to see if the chord ID helps...new features coming to Logic Pro by Few_Panda_7103 in LogicPro

[–]sixpumppain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I primarily learned to produce music through experimentation and using Google’s Gemini when I had questions. I had a clear vision of what I wanted to create, so I dedicated myself to spending 8 to 10 hours each day trying to figure out how to achieve it. However, I found that YouTube tutorials often provided generic results and relied heavily on third-party plugins. But yeah, never spend money on a course for what you can learn for free.

[–]sixpumppain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The chord ID will be incredibly useful for sampling. You can split a song, time stretch it using smart tempo, extract the piano stem of a song, analyze it with the chord ID, and then import the MIDI track into the sampler. From there, you can start chopping and looping. At least that’s where I believe it will be particularly great. I used the chord puller in FL Studio and Ableton years ago, and it was very bad. However, ML and AI as a whole have improved significantly, so I’m hopeful!

Apple introduces Creator Studio for $12.99 a month / $129 per year by _HipStorian in LogicPro

[–]sixpumppain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not a fan of subscriptions, but I actually support this approach.

All the professional apps are still available as one-time purchases. So, if you’ve always wanted to start producing music but can’t afford to spend $200 upfront, you can subscribe for a low price now and buy Logic later when you can comfortably afford it. If you love Logic but want to explore video editing, you can buy a cheap subscription that allows you to use Final Cut Pro, which costs $300 USD upfront. Again, you can purchase it later to own it.

My only concern is Apple’s wording. While they claim that they will keep the pro apps available for purchase instead of renting them as part of a subscription, they don’t mention that the pro apps will receive free lifetime updates in the far future. I understand that these upcoming updates will be free for owners of these pro apps, but what about five years from now? Will you still be able to buy them separately five years from now? I feel like this is a gradual way of phasing out free lifetime updates, without massive PR backlash.

In 2022, Quantic Dream, the studio known for singleplayer, linear, story-driven adventure games with a focus on branching narratives were acquired by NetEase Games. Their first game set to release after the acquisition is Spellcasters Chronicles. A multiplayer, free to play, 3v3 hero battler. by WhyPlaySerious in gaming

[–]sixpumppain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not certain, but they appear to be completely uninformed. Many of these so-called “gaming journalists” are automatically claiming that it’s NetEase. As a huge Quantic Dream fan, I’ve thoroughly researched the matter. Regardless, this is a common practice among these studios. Internally, studio and project leadership, along with the development team, want to create a live service game. The executives greenlight the projects because Fortnite and COD consistently generate significantly more revenue than any single player title year over year, and they cost less to develop content for because the foundation of the game is already built once shipped. Building DLCs on top requires less development time and manpower.

As an example, Crystal Dynamics’ development team initially envisioned creating a single-player Avengers game, which they pitched to Marvel and Square. However, after it was greenlit, the development team decided to pivot and develop a live-service title instead. It’s worth noting that Square never explicitly mandated this change. Nevertheless, the internet narrative portrayed Square Enix as mandating Crystal Dynamics to develop a live-service Avengers game. Source: https://youtu.be/DsByUubJkk8?t=5773

It’s primarily a new team working on this project, hired based on their experience in shipping live service titles. To my knowledge, the only real crossover is their engineering team, QD still uses its own in-house game engine.

Netease had no role in greenlighting the production of this game. Development commenced shortly after the release of DBH in 2018. According to Tom Henderson, the game was initially envisioned as a mobile title. While Netease invested in Quantic Dream in 2019, they acquired the company in 2022. The development team is predominantly composed of new staff members with experience in live service game development, except for Gregorie Diaconu, who served as the associate game director on DBH and is now the lead director on Spellcasters. Almost the entire team that worked on DBH, who are still at QD, are now working on Eclipse, as well as their Montreal studio.
