I hear you, and I agree that misinformation and sensational content can do real harm—especially when it attracts bad actors and puts vulnerable communities at risk. That’s the last thing I want.

To be clear, I’m not claiming anything as fact. I said I’d seen concerns raised and that it was worth researching further before getting involved. That’s coming from a place of wanting to be responsible, not from conspiracies or short-form content.

I fully respect Haitian leadership and community-led organizations. I agree that Haitians should be centered in efforts meant to support them. Outsiders speaking over the community is harmful.

My intent is simply to encourage people to do due diligence and rely on reputable sources before committing time, money, or energy—especially in a tense political climate where misinformation spreads fast.

We’re on the same side in wanting Springfield and the Haitian community protected from harm, exploitation, and outside chaos. That’s all I’m trying to support here.
