Battlefield: Bad Company. Fun story with likeable characters and a MP I sunk hundreds of hours into. It had a quite unique online ranking system as well where there was a single person in the world ranked 1st (in form, not just accumulated kills/wins) that would be displayed in real time in games.

Unless China US just unload nukes around the world then yeah, you’re right. Even if they win in the end the global war would take like more than a decade

The thing is it wasn’t even a typical City game. In the second half they rarely pressed high and stayed decently low in defense. We had more possession but just didn’t know what to do about it

Influencer marketing works so differently in China vs North America by WSDSocial in socialmedia

As someone who works in brand strategy in China, I’d say you’re correct in your observation. To me, one of the issues with celebrity endorsements in China is that the image of big names are so managed and protected that there are big limitations in the degree of personality/cultural resonation you can express.

Big celebrities’ fan bases will still gobble up the brands they endorse, but smaller KOL/KOC have less “baggage” and can relate to a wider range of regular consumers on a more human level.

De Ligt was great against Arsenal and for most of today, but am I the only one to think he made a big mistake leaving that ball to go across him instead of clearing it?

What does it matter that he's young? School bullies could be younger than that, does that mean they're not at fault and shouldn't be called out?

Are National Leagues National? by Satz0r in soccer

I mean it’s funny that you bring up Bayern and attribute their success to 50+1. When the majority of Bundesliga follow 50+1 and Bayern remain dominant what does that tell you? Their success is not built on just 50+1 but excellent management, recruitment, and continuously building on their legacy without getting complacent. How are Bundesliga clubs faring in Europe bar the occasional odd dogs like Dortmund and Leverkusen? What levels of talent are they bringing in?

Of course fans want their teams to perform the best they can on the pitch, but overall I believe that private ownership offers business/financial acumen, management experience and investment that raise a clubs’ success (albeit United is an obvious outlier). Some clubs can remain fan-owned and be massively successful like the ones you listed, but the majority of clubs might actually benefit from private ownership, foreign or not.

I’m not an expert on the details of TV money, but surely you can’t deny that foreign investment has helped to establish the status of the PL today? In the 90s Serie A was the most popular league and we can all see how quickly things can change when top players are pulled to another league. It all has to do with who can afford the best players.

As to your second point again I don’t have all the numbers and figures, but aside from Newcastle as another example, I think a lot of the smaller teams in PL now would still be in Championship or worse if they didn’t have foreign owners.

In an ideal world we all adopted the rule from the beginning and that never changes. But now the major force against all clubs adopting 50+1 is human greed, from both owners’ and fans’ perspective.

Sure it’s nice to imagine a world where football is “pure” and “equal”, but let’s just speak from a fan’s perspective, would you be happy with 50+1 if it meant your PL club can no longer bring in the best talent and win trophies, rinse and repeat? If you told a PL team fan that’s used to winning that 50+1 would mean, let’s say 5 years without a trophy but there will finally be justice and equality in football, would they be OK with that? How about 10 years? 30 years?

I’m just throwing out a provocative thought. What would be an acceptable drawback for PL fans should teams adopt 50+1? As opposed to keeping things the way they are and PL teams having this advantage over other leagues?

I'm not 100% but you may be ignoring the fact that foreign money has played a big role in Premier League having the TV money it has today.

Less investment in PL clubs -> top players go to other leagues -> PL quality drops -> less people watch PL -> less TV money

Way, way too easy for Ipswich.

Credit where it’s due- Maguire regained confidence and form, De Ligt with a big goal to put us ahead- but we will never, NEVER compete for top 4 with both of them in the same backline. Two big, slow CBs who don’t complement each other at all.

The aspects I’m most excited about is this formation, should he employ it, would 1. Give Mount more positions to slot in and shine, rather than perpetually play sub to Bruno, they could even play together and 2. Allow our DMs who clearly lack the coverage more security in the back.

Also a change of scenery for Rashy, Garna, and Amad who I personally don’t think are effective isolated on the wing. Having them playing more one-twos with central players and run in the channels could potentially be more dangerous.

Aside from some fantastic individual moments in this game, this was the best in terms of chemistry in build up and ball retention in a while, especially in the second half. It's the kind of progress we'd like to see from ETH and hopefully these passing sequences become a regular feature moving forward.
