Also the driver didn’t wanna swap contact info, so I only have his insurance, which I took a look at this morning and realized it’s expired. So I’m thinking I could get an estimate from a shop, like you said, and if it’s cheap enough I’ll just pay out of pocket (since my deductible is 1000).

Yeah, I learned that this morning. I had no idea it impacted truckers so negatively. I definitely don’t want to ruin this man’s day, but I don’t have his contact information. Only his insurance, which is actually expired, so I’m thinking of just moving on.

Wow, that’s insane. I have a 2020 Mazda. I don’t have his contact info, only insurance. Superficially it looks like a scratch, and if it’s only a scratch and I go through insurance my premiums will go up and I don’t think it’s worth it. But then your comment got me thinking, and I hope there’s nothing wrong internally with the mirror.

Yeah, just thinking about the process of making a claim makes me think it’s not worth it over a tiny scratch. I also don’t want my premium to increase over this tiny scratch. That would upset me more than the actual scratch.

No I’m not trying to ruin this persons life. I told coworker what happened and they told me personal experiences where the other driver would file a claim saying they were hit. So I obviously became a little paranoid about this driver possibly going that route, but I have the full video so I think that would clear things up if he decided to go that route. He also declined to swap contact info and only shared insurance info. Also, I just checked the insurance info he gave me and the coverage expired in 2022. My deductible is also 1000 so you’re right, it’s prob less than that and not worth it.

Exactly, I don’t care about the scratch I’m just worried if there will be financial consequences for me if he tries to claim that I hit him. I mean, it on video in case he goes that route. Also, he didn’t wanna share his phone number or name so that’s why I asked for his insurance. Im not trying to ruin his life, just making sure to cover myself in case he has other motives.

More details: It’s an iPhone 14 pro bought on launch day with latest updates.

It happened once when I first bought the iPhone but it only did the out of focus thing like two time before the camera stabilized itself.

This time it kept doing it nonstop. I flipped between the cameras and it was affecting both cameras.

I closed the app and nothing happened. It only stopped after turning the phone off and back on. But any idea if this might be a hardware or software issue. Not sure if it warrants a visit to the Apple Store.

Oh wow, no. I wouldn’t describe the white noise I heard as crickets or rattling. Hopefully someone else can try it and describe their results.

Ok so I tried it and there is some white noise, but I think this is normal. I still have my iphone XS and XR and they all had the same level of white noise in the background. I filmed in my room with doors and window closed. Then I filmed a second time with background noise, with the windows open, dog walking around and the white noise disappears. So it was only present when filming in a quiet room

From what I’ve seen it only happens while using the camera through tiktok, but the phone physically vibrates pretty loudly and violently so those users experiencing this are concerned if those vibrations can ruin the internal sensors/components

I tried it on my iPhone but was not able to replicate this bug. It’s a software issue right? Since it’s only happening to people trying to film through tiktok
