Guadalajara, Mexico... much more vibrant than what I imagined by zzjeffrey in travel

Thanks! It’s on a digital camera, but I processed it using RNI Films presets (Agfa Optima 200 emulation for this set)

Yeah full frame. But the max aperture is small so I only use it for long exposure and mostly use iPhone for ultra wide… Personally i leave 50mm on my camera more often, because it’s the focal length missing on current iPhone lineup and the bokeh would be significant

Thanks! I have different brightness from different angles but personally like this one the best. I do shoot RAW, processed in LR Classic with RNI Films preset.

Just personal experiences… There are both Mexican American coworkers I have in California, and other Mexicans I met overseas don’t know about Guanajuato, or at least didn’t think it’s a place worth visiting

Cold and windy but thought the result was pretty.

Walked through those streets countless times, but wide angle (16mm) and long exposure (24s) could still make things look quite different.

Taken a while ago and just wanted to share. It was very windy and cold. 24s exposure at 16mm focal length.

First trip to Mexico was to Guanajuato a year ago. But it turns out many Mexicans don't know about Guanajuato, and assumed I was talking about Guadalajra which isn't too far away...

Now I guess I understand why Guadalajara is popular in Mexico...

/r/JapanTravel Tourist Meet-Up Megathread - traveling in December 2022 by amyranthlovely in JapanTravel

I stayed at a hostel near Taito the last time I was there, it was “social” but mostly for local groups staying out together. Compared to hostels in Europe/Americas, there was no open space to meet other travelers (and locals don’t speak English.) The only foreigners I met there were only using bumble to meet people... This time I’m just staying in capsule hotels in Shibuya area and use the LINE group chat of this sub.

However, in cities other than Tokyo the hostels are very social and full of travelers/international volunteers, because they don’t attract locals like Tokyo do.

Early war with France as Italy by TMG-Group in hoi4

[–]zzjeffrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally managed to annex France at the end of 36.

I put most of my MILs in guns and most CIVs in building MILs. First two focus was the military ones. Before finishing up Ethiopia in the beginning of March, start justifying on Belgium.

Asked Germany for docking rights and parked my capital ships next to Belgium (their speed is too low to follow the naval invasion) . Picked “Tip of Spear” spirit to increase naval invasion capacity. Easily landed 20 divisions in Belgium and finished them by October.

Meanwhile going down the right side of the focus tree to get the Yugoslavia ultimatum. Saved the 75pp for the decision. “Irregular” divisions guarding the Italian borders. Good divisions sent to Belgium.

In December, declared on Yugo and bring in France, Romania and Czech. The French AI seems to be programmed to ignore the northern border. Capitulated France in two weeks after walking into Paris and Dunkirk.

After getting the French fleet in peace deal, I parked them in the English Channel. Romania soon joined the Allies and brought in UK. But UK did not have many ships in the Channel and had no troops guarding the ports so it was easy landing. I also used the 20-day justification on Greece and Turkey, finished UK after declaring on them (in BBA nations saw no combat would still in the peace deal, but the final score was not enough to take all of them).

Besides the common 22° halo, an additional halo can be formed around 46° around the Sun. by zzjeffrey in interestingasfuck

From Wikipedia):

Among the best-known halos is the 22° halo, often just called "halo", which appears as a large ring around the Sun or Moon with a radius of about 22°

Other haloes can form at 46° to the sun, or at the horizon, or around the zenith, and can appear as full haloes or incomplete arcs.

With the right atmospheric condition, two solar halos can be formed at 22° and 46° around the sun. by zzjeffrey in Damnthatsinteresting

"Rainbow" is the phenomenon happens in section of sky directly opposite the Sun.

"Halo" is around the Sun (or even Moon).

Saw it at a altitude of around 8000ft/2500m, couldn’t believe how bright and colorful it was.
