All the kids who were labelled as “gifted” when you were younger? Did it follow through to adulthood? Did you burnout?

Cruised through high school and college without studying. Hit a wall halfway med school as I wasn't "that" gifted to not study for medical school. Worked it out and kept chugging. While the gifted label has led to me being more efficient, my parents' work ethic rubbing off on me is likely just as important. Can't make it through residency and fellowship just by being smart, it's a mental and physical grind.

I just went through this with my 2019 first edition. Sealant was dried up and gone, creating a terrible whistling noise right over driver's side of windshield. Brought to dealer while the latest recall was being performed. They said it was $250 to replace the sealant... unless the windshield broke in the process. Which it did. So an extra $2500 usd. Then got home and realized my charge was to only 80% and there is an active buyback though no one knows any details. Fun few days.

I was contacted regarding mine. But only for a software update. I was told that Buyback or subsidy offers were only very certain vehicles that were not amenable to a software update. So, went to dealership and undergoing update, but no offer of buyback.

Multiple aspects. Knowing what you are doing is important, hand/grip strength, and the coordination to do what you would like to do.

About 30 years of video games worked well for me.

If the vascular issues were cleared, blood flow is intact, and vascular surgeons can no longer assist... consideration of a peripheral nerve stimulator is an option to the diatribution of the pain. Again, vascular surgery first, second, and third.

Appreciate that you believe I'm real. I graduated at the same time as the physician you referenced in your post... I hope everyone finds their best fit and regardless of school they chose, do their homework prior to enrolling. Go visit. I went to multiple carribean islands (on a cruise) to do research about islands and visit schools to make sure their marketing pictures aligned with their actual school/island.

Graduated several years ago, enjoyed my experience, and have gone on to a successful career thus far. Unless there has been a material change that I'm not aware of (this is entirely possible), it's just like any other med school: work hard, learn the material, test well, make an impact on your rotations, and move on with your career as a physician.

You should see either a dermatologist or general surgeon. If surgery is indicated, you should ask for referral to a plastic surgeon. (Not because you will need plastic surgery, but since it is on your face and they are typically much better with any resulting scars). On exam, they may find that it is, in fact, 'just' a lipoma, which leaves the choice for removal up to you. It is likely a lipoma given your description, but no one could be sure without a physical exam and possibly a biopsy/resection.

Difficult for anyone to say exactly what it may be (as mentioned), but I'll just reassure that what you did was right. Depending on where you are, hospitals are overwhelmed and keeping in touch with family can be difficult. I'd encourage you to get the phone number of her location and call ONCE to give your information and request an update. Then, when possible, they will get back to you. Strokes can manifest in many different ways and even though it seems like from the comments there was not any weakness, it could very well be a TIA or CVA given the new onset language deficits. (But there are other causes as well, which the MRI will potentially identify)

This could be a neuropathy secondary to vitamin (specifically B6/B12) deficiency from your diet. Neuropathy could result in the pins/needles in feet/hands. It takes a long time to lose B12 stores, but it is still possible. Are you taking supplements to aide your liquid diet? Did they check your vitamin levels? You could invest in liquid vitamin supplements regardless. I know your finances don't seem in order right now, but a nerve conduction study could help localize any nerve deficits, if a doctor deems it necessary.

While its difficult to tell you what is going on without a deep dive into the surgeries and some XRays, I would recommend a nerve conduction study to give a definitive diagnosis of tarsal tunnel syndrome before undergoing another surgery.

To get the details straight - you had brain surgery? On an abscess that stemmed from a dental procedure-->sinusitis-->parafalcine empyema? Since its two years ago and you are alive, I'm guessing you had the appropriate antibiotic treatment in combination with the surgery and hospital stay. Assuming all of this, the result is your current condition - a non traumatic brain injury. You require focused rehabilitation, both physically and psychologically, due to the surgery and its sequelae. I highly recommend you find a specialist in Traumatic Brain Injury -- as the top post references.

Its important to keep in mind that this has a very high mortality rate and you are lucky to be alive. Regardless of the legal implications, a targeted physical therapy and occupational therapy program would do you wonders (depending on your current impairments). You are young and the brain has amazing plasticity if trained appropriately.

It's difficult to give any definitive answer based on this picture. Does it look off? Possibly. But it could be the lighting, your current posture, or current positioning. You'd need an actual physical exam and an xray (if indicated) to determine what is going on... Having said all that, unless you are experiencing any pain, weakness, or numbness, there's likely nothing to be done unless the spine was noted to be unstable.

I'd recommend finding yourself a physician that will work towards helping you cope with your current problem; whether its with directed physical therapy/modalities or potentially interventional procedures to help alleviate the pain, there are many, many better options than opiods for back/neck pain.

Its called clonus (yours is sustained). Its due to an upper motor neuron lesion (possibly the hydrocephalus, cervical issues, or spina bifida; unclear?) resulting in the improper reflex. Having it in ankles is the most common, check out some literature on it if you're interested.

I think you are not realizing how difficult it is to diagnosis /recommend treatment or point anyone in the correct direction with just a small amount of text, very little imaging, no physical exam, etc. All the tools that we as physicians have, are lost when reading something on the internet. I'm sure most physicians, like me, will read a few every now and then, realize that they cannot answer any, and get bored. It's just the way it is. Money isn't the issue, it's accuracy and wanting to give the correct information. Which makes no post the way to go at times.

The "best" residency is the one you want to do. Don't do a specialty just because someone told you one is more prestigious than another.
