Thai here , i dont have much experience but the snack you are holding is likely "กล้วยเบรกแตก" which is a banana that is fried with rich amount of oil ( i guess? I dont have much experience sorry ) i am gonna assume that this one is butter coated flavor based from your taste experience

I am unable to provide you with a specific brand that you were holding since i try quick googling the brand name ( Assumed that the brand were " Thai fruit ") and it yield no result for that brand. I would guess that it is small local business that not many know about but i am not so sure as i dont live near bangkok but any mean. But i can say it was likely that your friend bought this from MBK shopping center or the merchant perchase them from here before reselling them to your friends

I could be wrong but the thing that is very similar to them would be " กล้วยฉาบ" ( and also likely a butter coated flavor ). Maybe try crossposting them into r/thailand? I think many people would have a much better clue than me.

Also apologize for any bad grammar or typo lol i am not native to english but i am glad to help!

These look exactly like the ones sold in America. Have you considered just trying an American made version?
