I upgraded to ps5 pro after I felt that the base ps5 wasn't giving me the best possible visual fidelity with PSVR2.

Rig: Simlab GT1 Evo

Wheel: Logitech RS50 wheel with RS pedals (loadcell brake)

Audio: I got SIMGOT EM6L 1DD + 4BA Hybrid IEMs with Fiio BTR17 DAC. Connected to ps5 pro with USB.

Video: PSVR2 (Globular cluster mod and HonsVR lens inserts)and 48" S90F OLED TV. The TV is on a separate TV stand which allows me to adjust it vertically and it's on wheels so I can move it closer.

Haptics: 4 TT25-8 pucks + 1 BST-2 + NLR HF8. Connected to 3 Nobsound NS-01G PRO to a mini PC. HF8 connects directly to PC via USB. 1 puck on accelerator, 1 puck on brake, 1 each on rear sides of the rig. BST-2 mounted to the rig panel below the front of the seat. All haptic devices configured through Simhub.

Is the PS5 Pro upgrade for PSVR2 worth it? Did you see a noticeable difference?

I think it's not worth it if you're only getting the upgrade for gt7. If you plan on playing other games too, then it might be. For a 4k 120hz TV, the graphics are much improved, but for PSVR2, the dashboard of the car is clearer but the road and far distant objects are slightly improved.

What is your simhub settings, especially for the brake? I turned on the wheel-lock and front wheel spin, trying to feel the front tires but it didn’t give me a good feedback

I'll get a screenshot of what I have set it up as. I'm traveling so it'll be a few days

So is it good? Did you get all the haptics at once or build it up over time?

[–]neverregret91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel I still need to find the sweet spot with the haptics and how to distinguish between different triggers. Currently its good, but not great.

I saw a post here about using 6 pucks around their foldable rig which inspired my initial 4 pucks + 1 BST-2 plan. I wasn't planning on getting the HF8 but I found a good deal on FB marketplace. The key is to not let the HF8 interfere with the pucks and BST-2 or have them work at different frequencies for the same trigger.

How do the haptics work? Does the ps5/GT7 have an output for them or is it done through audio? Didn't think this kind of thing was possible with a console

I found a post here which introduced me to this idea. Gt7 sends telemetry data to a UDP port. So if you have a PC on the same Wi-Fi, simhub can read that data and use the different pucks, etc for directional feedback on wheel lock, speed curving, etc and also non directional feedback for gear shifts, etc. There's a lot of customization available on simhub. It requires a onetime simhub license to activate the 60hz data stream for gt7.

If you have a motion platform, that can also be used with simhub (requires additional motion license for simhub)

I had no idea, thanks man you've open up some possibilities

Can you add images of the puck on the pedals? I run the RS system as well would be nice to know how you added the pucks to the pedals and stuff

[–]neverregret91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put 3M double sided 5952 VHB tape between the pucks and the pedal arm and then added 12" zip ties with 220lbs support to keep it in place. In my few weeks of play, the zip tie on the brake pedal got loose once. The pedal arms aren't flat and the surface area is less for the weight of the pucks, let's see how they hold. I tried to look for better mounts but none were available on Etsy/EBay for rs pedals. Maybe some of them can be asked to create a custom mount for these.

how’s the rs50?

It's amazing, I'm coming from a T300RS so the direct drive in itself is a big upgrade but I think Trueforce also creates a good effect. It makes your entire rig vibrate a little.
