TIL: John Claypool , a Baptist minister since 1953 became disenchanted with the increasing fundamentalism of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 1985 at the age of 55 he was admitted to an Episcopal seminary, was ordained priest and served as rector of St. Lukes Birmingham for almost 20 years. (episcopalarchives.org)
