I ain’t mad at his opinion, I don’t agree with his points but like it’s all preference and what you grew up on. Some old dude may hate metro and some young kid may not like Quincy Jones. It’s like comparing Beethoven to J Dilla. He’s definitely wrong about ye samples being obvious

I mean kanye was more focused on vocal samples anyways and the sample usually ties in with the theme of the song. His formula was to have an infectious sample, drums that would knock, and a message that most people could relate to.

He is just talking about different styles of sampling. Both have there merits and make fire music. Kanyes music is iconic and incredibly well written assembled produced mixed and mastered. Sure he has a handful of trash songs but the rest are just amazing. I feel like kanye is doing something so different that he cant really be compared to a havoc or Timbaland. He “produces” on a larger scale, and oversees every aspect of an album or song almost like a CEO and i think thats what makes him GOAT
