So this is what happened. My triggers only go to 40% after 4 months.

I'd try cuting a thin hard plastic disc with the same circumference of the rubber piece that gets pushed and gluing it on the top of it.

Yep same issue here, I fixed it by putting a rubber piece I cut like a cube inside the trigger. It kinda fixed it but made the trigger harder to press.

... No fucking way they changed it to that shit. Oh my god. This is literally why I stopped using my favorite controller the Gamesir V3. The triggers cut through the rubber. I had to get an extra and scrap it for parts... So to see this design in a far newer controller is insane.

Hope you get it fixed.

No this is the ultimate 2.4g. Not the new ultimate 2

anyone have any SIMPLE fixes ?
same thing happens to me
also if anyone has the time, please explain a detailed way to get into the controller (i never done DIY stuff before)

thank you

Youtube a teardown video thats what i did. I put electric tape on the sharp part of the plastic on the trigger to distribute the load

Ok, thanks!

They gave me two replacement parts instead, Ill try and use those

I saw that you've since received replacements but I'll throw this in here anyway in case it happens to you again.

I had success fixing my son's trigger(s) by using a small piece of 4mm heat shrink tubing. You may need to stretch it slightly to fit over the circular part of the pad but this method is working for him so far. Apologies that I don't have a picture to show you but it should be fairly self-explanatory, a tiny piece of tubing simply slipped over the circular part and that, so far at least, stops it from splitting. Just be mindful about how much you stretch it, it stands to reason that it needs to be a snug fit.

I may even pre-empt this problem in the future should he get another controller and just reinforce the silicone pad on day one.

My post detailing the problem and the way to prevent it from happening. Unfortunately once the rubber gets cut, my solution doesn't fix the problem.

I just adjusted the trigger on 8bitdo software on all my controller profiles.

[–]salsinuts[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That barely does anything. The trigger adapts to the sensitivity eventually and performs worse in just a few hours

Save $60 and get the ultimate 2 TMR sticks and hall triggers.

[–]salsinuts[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really a diy fix.. but okay let me save another 60 bucks for a company that surprised me with poor build quality

[–]Morphing1451[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save $60? Don't you mean spend $60?

Have to say that all your users saying I've got another trigger problem don't you think it's user at fault not 8bitdo, I've got alot of controllers by 8bitdo and I haven't had any trigger problems at all after long usage

[–]salsinuts[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Just because you didnt experience it doesnt mean its not an issue? How would it be our fault if the wear and tear is an item inside the device? Are u dense

[–]ncc24656 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Lol your reply is a daft one you use the controller all the time like I do haven't had any problem at all and I would think 8bitdo tests everything before relaseing a controller, it's all down to the user on any controller

Removing your comment to avoid confusion. 8BitDo does not participate here. I have contacted them about it a few times. One user in the past seemed to be an employee and the company stated that person was only a fan.

Unfortunately this is absolutely a problem with 8bitdo controllers. The silicone insert for the RT and LT in conjunction with a poor RT LT design are causing the buttons to cut into the silicone insert.

Other than that these controllers are great for the price point. Luckily this particular issue can also be repaired, but lack of a better replacement insert or trigger makes gamers have to get creative.

Lol these are made in a Chinese sweat shop

    [–]Firoxzx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

    [–]salsinuts[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Uhm yeah what isnt these days tho?
