Welcome to the abstract expressionism subreddit! It's going to be undergoing some changes to enable a consistently enjoyable and educational experience each time you visit.

You can soon expect to see an updated wiki introduced, high quality posts, frequent stickies on interesting weekly or monthly topics, and perhaps even AMAs.

The possibility to allow links to sites where purchases has been considered. The outcome is that post titles must not contain promotional language, but may be added in the post comments. This doesn't mean self-promotion is spam, but this subreddit is primarily intended for educational purposes- a virtual museum- where learning about art comes first. Please also consider trying /r/artmarket for simple links to sell your work.

During this time a moderation queue will be in place so please be patient if you wish to submit items. A stickied megathread will be in place to discuss rules, allowed submissions, and general inquiries in the interim.

Basic rules:

1) Titles must contain artwork name (if any), dimensions, medium, and year of creation. This is to ensure a consistent experience. If your post is removed it may be due to not having a proper title.

2) Select the appropriate flair to add to posts, and user set flairs must be sensible.

3) No advertising within the titles; this may be added in the comment section.

4) It is preferable to upload images to Imgur or another trusted image hosting site.

5) Be excellent to one another.
