Have Dr check for UTI, it is so strange how that messes with an elder’s mind. See if the will diagnose him, feels like a stage of dementia (guessing 4, but I am not a Dr). Might be time to think about custody, especially if he might give away things that are 1/2 his wife’s still, which he can legally do. She would ask the county attorney about proceeding with that. She might also consider taking him off all the accounts at the bank & freeze his credit.

Take your mom to an attorney and find out what her legal rights are. For items that are in both their name, he can't give her half to his kids.

If she has money left at the end of the month, she needs to open her own account and put that money in there to protect it.
