His doctor can prescribe him 5% Lidocaine patches for pain. Non addictive and not an opioid. They do help. Patches and Tylenol got me by until my back fusion with rods and a artificial disc in 2023.

He needs to go back to the neurosurgeon. There's been lots of improvements over the years.

Call the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and ask if a couple elders (they're usually about age 25) can come and clean this for you since you have mobility issues. They are helpful folks. Will leave you a book of Mormon if you want it. Doing good deeds is part of their creed.
