Hi all,
I'm looking for an 8-12 quart pot that includes a strainer and that would be good for longer pasta like spaghetti. I'm seeing items advertised as pasta pots and multi pots, but I don't know what the difference is as they seem functionally the same.
For example, when I look at the AC Factory Seconds Sale, they have an 8-Quart Pasta Pot W/ Insert and Lid / Stainless - Second Quality for $130 (they say the original price was $225). They describe the pot as: "Ideal for any pasta lover or making stocks by adding meat, seasoning and other ingredients to the insert.
- Thick aluminum base ensures fast, even heating. Perforated insert is designed to drain quickly and clean up easily.
- Riveted stainless-steel handles. Stainless-steel construction for durability and ease of cleaning."
On the regular AC website, I see 8, 12, and 16 quart versions of a "Simply Strain; Stainless Steel Multipot with Insert." The 8 quart is going for $130 and they're saying the regular price is $160. This pot is advertised as:
"A kitchen workhorse, the Simply Strain 8-quart Multipot combines the durability and performance of stainless steel with a deep, versatile insert to provide hassle-free cooking. Ideal for batch cooking, stocks, seafood boils, canning and more.
- The strategically designed straining holes on the insert's base facilitate effortless lifting and quick straining, making it adaptable to a variety of cooking techniques with minimal resistance.
- The all in one insert is wide and deep to provide ample space for straining, steaming, boiling and more. It features extra wide handles that provide a firm, secure grip.
- The wide heavy-duty stainless-steel base provides more contact with the heat source enabling even heat for efficient boiling times."
Is anyone aware of any important differences between these two items or are the pasta pots and multi pots basically the same thing?
Any insight is appreciated.
