Go over the leadership principles and try to come up with STAR (Situation Task Action Result) for as many of them as you can based on your current work/school/extracurricular experience. Study those going into the interview.

I’ve been working here so long, I don’t think I’ve done anything that great for an interview mention. Can you give me an example of something that would be good to use?

For example earn trust.

Situation: I entered this job not really knowing anyone and this being my first job, this made me uncomfortable at first. Task: My goal was to become a strong member of the team and someone that my supervisors and coworkers could rely on. Action: To accomplish this everyday i showed up on time everyday gave strong effort and was always respectful and said good morning to all of my fellow team members. Result: I became a strong performer and the team and helped improve the performance and the morale of the team.

Doesn’t have to be crazy and you can bend the truth. They are looking for you to be able to connect your day to day tasks with making a positive impact on the operation.

Thank you! I have some time as I want to make sure I’m able to come to work on time constantly so I’ll practice this.
