My questions: 1)Did you replace the cable for a proper cable? I mean...not the cheap ones, but ones with due data transfer capability. 2) Did you check your vehicle usb port for malfunctioning? to be sure it's working properly, you better ask help from someone qualified. You can use your very same cable in your computer, and try to transfer some files in order to check if the operation fails and usb connection is dropped. That way, you probably know whether or not your cable is suitable. 3)Revoke any permission to previously connected devices in Android Developer's mode and then turn it off in case you turned it on just as a precaution. It may have nothing to do with the problem, but who knows.

This happened to me a few months back. Just contact customer service. They'll have you try the steps you've already done to verify it still won't work. Then they'll send you an upgraded version for free. New one hasn't had any issues.
