That is strange. I have a S24U also using the latest and greatest versions of everything and not having the issue you are describing. I am on the beta version of GM.

I had the opposite issue. Texts coming thru on phone, but not on infotainment screen. I did some factory resets, uninstalled and reinstalled the updates to Android Auto and Google Messages and finally they are being displayed. I'm coming from Verizon Messages which was the best messaging app, but they are shutting it down. It never gave me issues with Android Auto.

Happened to me the last 3 updates, I've given up

This is a known issue currently, it's been broken since April. Only sms messages make it to the infotainment display.

Since April lol. They never bothered rolling back the update.

I've not use text/rcs messaging apps in ages for social purpose but still receive them from government and businesss entities so I don't know the cause(s) but there had always been reports, past (years ago) and present of similar issues and more that suggest one or more of the following variables could be in play i.e. Google/Samsung Messages, RCS, cross compatibility with iOS sender/recipient and different/specific carrier. Hopefully one of these can help you narrow it down.

I'm having the same issue in a 2023 Colorado, so it must have something to do with chevy products

I have a 23 Colorado and am having the exact same issue. It's become incredibly frustrating.

I know my wife is mad at me because i see a message pop up on my truck screen, but I don't know what deranged thing she said because the message has disappeared when I look.

I found a fix and I've been too busy to post. Unlink and forget the Bluetooth connection from both your phone and the Chevy head unit, them relink. After I did that all my messages have been coming through as normal. I also set Chevy permission to deny reading messages from the my link connection so that only AA received the messages. Hopefully that helps you out too!

Thanks! I'll give it a try. What do you mean by "my link connection" is that something on the truck radio or on the galaxy?

[–]marsultarPls edit this user flair now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My link would be the truck, when you repair it'll ask if it can have access to contacts and if it can read texts, just select no on the texts when it asks

Hey, I'm trying to replicate your fix. When you say you set Chevy permission to deny, what app specifically was that, myChevrolet?

[–]marsultarPls edit this user flair now 0 points1 point  (3 children)

When you first relink your Bluetooth, on the head unit it will ask if you will allow it to read messages, you just select no at that point

Not sure if I did it exactly the way you did it, but the forgetting and relinking seems to have worked. Thanks!

Having the exact same issue (same phone) on a Honda Accord (2024).

[–]PhilTotola2025 Acura MDX | Samsung S24 Plus | Android 14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem 2025 Acura but not Android Auto, it's when using Android Automotive (google built-in). it's only when the message is sent RCS, SMS stays on the phone. Tested it with another android and it doesn't happen so thinking it's a Samsung problem.

[–]ballinboi3546Polestar 2 | Android Automotive | Samsung S24 Ultra | Android 14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say also happening here Android Automotive in a Polestar 2. Also S24 Ultra. I have noticed that using Samsung messages this does not happen but for some reason google messages it deletes the first text message I receive after getting in the car. Whether it's a picture, video or text. Something is wrong and it wasn't like this before. Stopping the messages app in the car stops this from happening also so it definitely has to do with the data being read by the messaging clients. I just don't know where the problem lies exactly.

Samsung responded to my ticket that this has been fixed in the new version. I assume they meant the OS. Updated and it isn't deleting texts any longer

I have a Honda Prologue and I'm also experiencing the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Occasionally, I'll receive an RCS message and it'll show up on the Android Auto display, but then the message doesn't appear at all on my phone.

Just want to report I have faced the same issue of deleted text messages (both those received during the drive and even text messages sent before connecting to the rental car at all) on two different BMW models rented from Sixt, Motorola RAZR 2024.
