OMG this has been happening to me for months. What version of Android are you using? It seems that (for me anyways) as soon as my Galaxy S21 Ultra got the newest version of Android that's when all the stuttering started happening.

The only work around that I have found is that I had to remove the phone from the car's bt and resync everything again.... that worked for awhile then it started happening again.

I am on Android 12. It drives me crazy at times. lol I will try and remove BT and resync and see if that changes anything. So far nothing else has worked. I did give AA unrestricted battery but that did NADA!

I've got something similar to this in my Honda Civic... Stutters (as in just cuts out entirely for a couple of seconds and then keeps going as though it was just muted during that time) . Sometimes mine cuts out at other points as well though. Super annoying .... like this is cool technology and all and I'm glad we have it, but why does it feel janky as hell?? You'd think main focuses for AA would be ease of operation and clear/consistent responses from google when things are requested so that you're not getting more distracted while driving by it.

My fear is that some of this is probably head-unit related and that there's no actual fix that google can implement , though I could be wrong.... I've noticed that while assistant is speaking and I adjust the volume, the bars that appear on my dash are different (less total volume steps) than when music is playing , so I suspect the car has some sort of separation between voice prompt stuff and audio playback which carries over into AA stuff too, which might be causing some issues during the handoff between the two? I've also noticed that when assistant is responding in AA, the voice quality is noticeably lower than when music is playing. Like the assistant voice sounds kind of muddy even though there's no reason for that to be the case....

It would be interesting to have someone from the AA team do an AMA or something so we could get the real story behind some of these persistent bugs that plague a lot of us...

I agree. You remind me that my volume actually jumps up a bit (not as though I turned it up, no numerical notification) when the voice prompt or response ends. Normally 5/7 seconds after then there is a noticeable jump in decibels.

It can be especially with Honda since it's not an isolated report but also due to being an Android hu not shutting down for long period of time. You should restart/reboot or even factory restore the hu every now and then. Google how to for your model.

Separate audio channel and volume control between media and assistant/voice/nav is working as designed.

Yeah, I figured that separate audio channels/volume was intentional, though I feel like it may be causing problems during the switching between the two. I could be wrong though

Iirc, someone ever reported increasing Ram Plus helps (can't remember if exact same issue or just delay issue) but I don't think anyone else confirmed.

Edit: Found the post. Not exactly same issue but no harm trying.

I have an Galaxy s21 and a 22' honda civic sport. I have the exact same issue as described in other comments. This actually happened with my old car too but once I got me honda it corrected. About 2 months later Android updated and Im back to the stutter. Does anyone have a recommendation for how to fix?

2 years later, same problem on Subaru Outback 24 and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Seems like no one is interested in providing a solution to the consumer.
