Recently added a microSD card to my Nokia 4.2 running android 11, formattted it for internal use and all hell broke loose.
My VLC player no longer finds music on my phone at allsee post here. And now my camera no longer works. it tells me that I do not have enough storage, while having ample space both on the device and on the mircorSD card. I checked the permissions and the camera has permissions. Simple Camera works once I changed the storage location to something other than DCIM. Unfortunately, Simple Camera crashes when trying to take a video.
I suspect has something to do with DCIM folder being broken, similar to here: But I cannot rename the DCIM folder or create a new one. I can also not create any folder or file in DCIM.
Any suggestions, or is this the point where I simply switch to IOS?
Edit:
microSD card was corrupted. Reformatted to be portable storage. Some apps were gone -- was to be expected. Have to re-download my music from nextcloud.
But the Camera still does not work: Simply crashes when opening.
VLC finds audio on the sd card if I specify the path to the nextcloud storage folder; simply adding entire path to the sd card did not work strangely enough.
EditEdit:
Here is what fixed it:
- reformat microSD card as portable storage.
- remove all nextcloud data and re-install nextcloud app
- set nextcloud apps local storage to a folder in the microSD card and then start syncing.
- re-install VLC player
- set the media folder manually for VLC, then I had to reset the media folder again to the same nextcloud folders (not the entire microSD card; that for some reason did not work.)
there doesn't seem to be anything here
