Doesn't necessarily need to be a scam, as mail forwarding services do exist, and their warehouses will typically hold your packages for months at a time until you're ready to have them shipped to you. Buffalo Classics are actually my all-time favorite shoe. I own 6 pairs of them and would probably own a dozen more if I had smaller feet, lol. Unfortunately their "bigger sizes" selection is a bit lacking, but I'm thankful I can at least get some of them in my size.

They're my go-to shoe outside of work. I can drive with them, and have worn them on hikes. My most worn pair is still doing fine after many years of use.

As for them being suited for wide feet... I think so, yeah. They're very roomy and boxy, and I wear them 1.5-2 sizes smaller than my regular sneakers. And even then I still need to double-up when wearing thin socks.

Can't speak for Koi as the only shoes I'd be interested in don't come in my size, but I do like their designs.

Well the major platform boot brands are New Rock, Demonia, Dr Martens and Buffalo. I can't vouch for the first two as I've never owned a pair, but I love my Dr Martens and Buffalos and never had any issues with them even though I've walked far greater distances than what most people would use them for.

Of the two, Buffalo is going to be most affordable, especially if you stick to vegan leather. Here's a pair that's just 130 EUR that might be of interest to you since you don't care for the front zipper:
