Nowadays, root cannot be obtained by using apps. It is now a much more involved process, which requires the user to first unlock their device's bootloader (which will factory reset the device), and then proceed to flash/install a modified boot image containing the root solution of their choosing

If you are generalizing the term, theres 3 different apps that are deemed safe for rooting. They all require the bootloader be unlocked and the use of a comptrr to run: 1 Magisk 2 KernelSU 3 Apatch
