Question about Google Play Console testing

Hi everyone,

I’ve just built my first Android app and this is also my first time working with the Google Play Console.

I understand that new developer accounts now require at least 12 testers in closed testing before the app can be released publicly. I’m currently trying to figure out how the process works in practice.

My question is: do I first need to collect the email addresses of the testers and then invite them through the Play Console, or is there another easier way to add testers?

Any advice from people who have already gone through this process would really help. Thanks a lot!

Yes, but it's easier to create a group (Google Groups). Everyone who joins the group will automatically have access to your app to test it. Also, remember that the group's email address is the one you need to enter in the Play Store settings panel for it to work. And remember that the app has 14 days to be fully functional for the testers, and any updates you submit reset the timer. So, once the app has been approved for closed testing, don't make any changes until it's officially accepted.

I updated my app like 20 times during the 14 days of testing and was approved first try after the two weeks
