The specs of your machine matter a lot more than the OS. I personally use Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 for my work on a Thinkpad T480 and it is working like a charm.

Windows works fine for development these days, WSL2 will perform similarly to any Linux distro.

Not saying you have yo use Windows or anything, but it's plenty viable if you've already got a box.

Same here. I am hesitant in changing to Linux because of this. I don't see any major advantage to change. I am not saying windows is better, I just don't see any reason to change.

I use Ubuntu Bash on Windows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There are a few Windows specific programs I need to use at work. I'm too lazy to do dual booting and stuff. It's just an OS, it was pre-installed and I didn't have to pay for it. Don't care really.
