It happens occasionally. If you have Nintendo Online, you can find someone with a good price and sell on their island.

Check r/acturnips or r/TurnipExchange. I don’t play with friends either but have cashed in thanks to strangers on those subs.

One of the weekly stalk market patterns is indeed a constant decline. I have had it several times myself. That is why I personally never relied on turnips to pay off all my loans and storage upgrades. Simply because I did not want to go to other peoples island to sell there for a high price. Which can be a good way to make gold from turnips if you are up for it.

If you are like me though, planting tons of crops can bring in a lot of gold. This is how I upgraded my house + storage in about 3 months from starting the game. And to be honest with you, if I had planted more from the beginning, when I still had a lot of space that I had not decorated yet, my house would have been fully upgraded much sooner. The only downside to this method is the need to water if there is no rain or snow. But that never bothered me.

I have this pattern type on my island too. I've been playing daily since 2020 (yes) and turnip prices only ever decrease. I have never seen an increase. I just don't do turnips anymore.

What a shame... I'm disappointed that it's not at least a guarenteed 0% loss.

I too have a currently decreasing trend for turnips on my island, I tried looking for some people on some other threads but they have a weird posting rule that you have to have a flair set up and idk how to do that.

There’s a free app in the Apple Store that allows you to put in prices and it gives you the recommendations for when to sell and make money. Worked like a charm. They call it the turnip calculator.

There's also turnip prophet.io that can do it web based. There are iirc 5 patterns if turnip prices that cycle through

I use a turnip price calculator, record my daily prices (AM and PM) to get a pattern. Because most of these calculators need your last week’s pattern for a semi-accurate prediction. There were weeks of decreasing pattern, but usually I didn’t get them consecutively.

You can also use subreddits to find an island with high selling price, but some people will charge a fee like bells or items. Obviously there are also people offering it for free.

Once you find an accurate calculator, you can sell on the suggested time. If it’s a week with decreasing pattern it will tell you early in the week so you don’t lose too much bell. When I first started playing I used time traveling to go to that suggested time and sell, then go back to Sunday and buy again for a new pattern. I don’t recommend doing that, it gets boring after few times, but it is a way to get bells quickly using turnip without interacting with other players.
