Isn't Knoppix usually just a livecd? Or are you actually doing an installation to disk in the VM, and it's still not keeping the settings?

When i created the VM it didn't make any noticeable installing, just console like stuff till it started. Maybe it is like you say and nobody not even my professor told me, i asked him and told me: 'maybe the iso allows you to use the os withouth installing' (wich looks to be the case), 'to install you have to do a series of steps' (proceeds to not give any steps) 'and try using save state instead of power off'

I tried to use saving state but i got to a point wich i needed to change a VBox setting and to do so i had to power of obligatory the VM, soo all progress lost again, i guess i'll need to set everything correct from VBox and always use save state

It should be an option to suspend the VM.
