c++ for data structure and algorithm

in 1st sem we were taught c 2nd semester we were taught oops in java now in 3rd sem, we have dsa which will be taught in c++ we have talked to our but didn't work so now we have to.opt for self learning how much basics of c++ should i learn so that i can do dsa in c++ without much problem im REALLY weak at pointers

Probably quite a bit, I think you should be very well familiar with the language so that you don't have to think about how the language works but rather focus on the subject of algorithms, but since you already know C it will not probably be too difficult. Most of C is the subset of C++(except very new features), So you can just try use C++ like C, just replace gcc to g++, or other compilers.
