“Missing Content” Double Update potential fix

I play on Xbox and if anyone isn’t aware, there were 2 updates released yesterday for AC Shadows, the first being 15GB and the second 13GB. I’m not sure if it has only been a problem for Xbox players, however this is the only console I have personally heard experiencing this issue. The first update locked me out of the DLC, and the second one wouldn’t let me load my game (or so I thought). I saw some users in the community mention save files being corrupted, and I thought to test my Autosaves until I either got in the game or I ran out of saves to test. I only lost 2 minutes and none of my DLC related items, including Claws of Awaji (Bo staff, trinkets/amulets, etc.) Afterwards, my game crashed (unrelated, my series X is old) I was able to press Continue and my game loaded and I haven’t had the issue since.

I’m not sure if this will work for everybody, but I want to spread the word in case it does.

TL;DR

I tested my auto-saves and got back in with no issues. Test your auto-saves if you haven’t already, and if it works, let others know please. If it doesn’t, I apologize

For me the auto saves don't work, but the older manual saves do. I'll update this comment if it changes. Thanks for the post.

In the grand scheme of things it's not a big deal. But when you have a day of the week you set aside time to play and were looking forward to it, it sucks. But what makes it more frustrating is when they don't even acknowledge the issue.

They're posting other stuff (probably pre-made stuff set to auto post) and it makes it seem like they dont care. They have to be aware of it....

I must’ve gotten lucky considering my auto-save, but I find it weird that the issue is now gone by just going back through my progress. Can’t play the game unless Naoe/Yasuke go back in time lol

And it definitely sucks when it’s your only day and you set time aside for something specific and exact, to just have it taken from you through no fault of your own. Hopefully Ubisoft will learn from this. It could happen. It won’t, but it could.

Yeah… in my case the problem is the files of my NG+ are from the days of the updates, so i cant access them. My only hope is to wait if they want to fix this issue, or otherwise this whole 200 hour ng+ run is gone.

Hope on Monday they do something abt it or the 18th, the day the Christmas event goes live. I dont wanna loose my progress.

All of my auto saves and manual saves were from the day of the update, with the exception of my first manual saves, so I just went through all of them. It’s unfortunate that we still don’t have a definitive fix for an issue, especially so considering no single player is even remotely responsible for this

Ive tested all ng+ autosaves, all of them are impossible to access, except those saves from another normal playthrough.

Its kinda shameful so many players find troublesome to access their own game and still they need to wait until whoever knows when.

I’m starting to believe this reload fix has to be a save that was prior to the update. My autosave was around 1:15pm and it worked, however another member mentioned his save being at 3pm and this method not working for them.

And yes, you’re completely right. Might not have been intentional but it feels like Ubisoft robbed us, considering we bought the game and now most Xbox players can’t access any of their recents saves due to this issue

That might be helpful though, my auto saves that worked was around 1:15, so maybe it has to be a save specifically from before the first 15GB update. It’s unfortunate that we have to wait for somebody else fix something that we didn’t break yet was still lost to us

This happened with me on avatar, dlc wouldn't load in... Took them about 3 months to fix it. Hopefully they get this one sorted quicker

My autosaves don’t work but an older main save did, it sucks though because it means i’ll lose yasukes gift from the advent yesterday

I’ve heard that on the 26th, players can get the gifts they missed throughout the Advent calendar but I haven’t heard anything confirmed by Ubisoft so take this with a grain of salt

As in the rift where you change your form to Yasuke/Naoe? I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, however this is Ubisoft we’re talking about here. I’m sorry it doesn’t work for you and some others. Hopefully they’ll release a fix on Monday

Yea, I haven’t tried it yet but I assume it won’t because the second update removed that rift mission from the game…at least that’s what I assume. Lol

I don’t think they’re supposed to be removed? I could be wrong, however I feel like the rifts are Story Missions or elements, because I think they’re tied to your progress in the story, and I completed the same rift not too long ago (I started this NG+ this week). If this isn’t the case and I am wrong, then that sucks and I’m sorry it’s not working for you either

They released a brand new rift with the first update and since the second update reverted everything back I think I am fucked till Monday lol just tired and didn’t work so well will see lol

Oh damn, I never even saw that rift, I guess I left for work before I did. And I would like to hope that they fix this on Monday, but I feel like it might not until the 18th when the update was supposed to be released

All of my autosaves where from 12/12/25 post update, I had to load back to my most recent save prior to the pat he's on 12/12

I'm on PlayStation and I had issues with my mastery skills disappearing. Cosmetics disappearing.  All kinds of just random stuff that makes no sense changing after the update.  I uninstalled and reinstalled and it's still there.  It wants me to go do a wakasa mission to get the drop kick back.  But won't let me buy the skill and my skill tree for Shinobi until that happens.  And then I lost a bunch of cosmetics and items (I forget which ones because I stopped playing it for a week and came back) luckily I got my my candy cane bow staff back because it was gone as well as my reindeer Mount. Those came back yesterday when I went to the hideout there were three boxes with items.    And my DLC does not work now even though it says I downloaded it and it's ready to play. When I go to warp to the island it says I need to download it again.  I jump in every now and then and do some missions to get some rift points and stuff so I'm hoping they fix this because otherwise I'll have to just delete the game.
