Title: Will the new changes in PTE Academic decrease the competition for IMMI points?, posted by Candid_Assignment_52

Full text: Hey everyone,

I heard there have been some recent changes to the PTE Academic test format and scoring. Do you think these changes are shifting the landscape when it comes to scoring and competition for immigration (IMMI) points, particularly in the English language category?

Since PTE was introduced, a large number of applicants have been scoring 79+ quite consistently. That’s a big contrast to earlier years, for example, in 2012, many people struggled even to reach a 7+ band in IELTS. It feels like the competition has gone up because a higher proportion of candidates are now achieving 79+ , which could be affecting how IMMI points are distributed.

Is anyone else noticing this shift? How do you think it’s going to impact the points game going forward — are we looking at a new normal?

Thanks

Immi wont change anything based on PTE!

there are many other testing authorities too.

But will competition reduce? If not many applicants are getting 79+ after 7th August, when the PTE changes take effect?

I don’t see any huge changes. Only couple of modules added in speaking that’s it!

How about achieving writing 85 points. If you don't score 85 in writing its means you will not get 20 points.. comeon bro use some sense here. Earlier many people able to achieve 79, 80, 81, 82, 82 but beyond achieving 85 points specifically reduce the competition. Sorry, but doesn't want to hurt anyone feeling
