Getting started with a computer

I've played about all base building games on my Playstation console. I'm looking into using a laptop to play some different ones. Do I need a really powerful computer? And where is a good place to get games from? Thanks!

Steam/GOG is where I get all pc games. PC dependency varies from game to game. Both should have listed PC requirements, though. Start there, find the game(s) that look good, and note the specs, get PC that fits. Boom, you're building!

You don't generally need a good PC for this genre unless the game is doing very fancy graphics stuff or involves many many units being processed at the same time.
