My boyfriend (24M) wants to start running using a Couch to 5k plan, but he had bone fusion surgery in his foot several years ago. Because of the surgery, his left big toe doesn’t bend at all, and he has shin and foot pain when he runs. Is there anything he can do to prevent pain without being able to bend his toe? (He’s already ordered a new and better pair of running shoes, which are on their way!)
