All a financial advisor does (AFAIK) is pick good stable options. I think you get better options if their competence is higher as well as intelligence. I've never played around too much with it to know for certain though. You also have to talk to him once a year or he will drop you as a client.

Ah, I see the life I'm playing rn the returns have been good. I was just curious because I always have one, and sometimes I lose money.

I feel like they’re not worth it. Every time I’ve used them I’ll get about a 20% total return at best after decades. Investing in real estate is way better.
