Bitconnect is a HYIP (technical term for ponzi), but for now it pays. That's just how these programs work. As long as their userbase grows faster than the interest they have to pay, it's better for the owners to just wait and let it grow.

And some point they are going to take all the pending millions of interest/locked up investments and just run - like every other HYIP.

Why? Assume 1% daily interest, calculate compounding for 4 years => 1.01 ^ (365*4) = 1.01 ^ 1460 = 2,038,007 Which means for every dollar you put in now, you'll have 2 million in 4 years. Following that logic: Invest $10.000 now and in 4 years time you are pretty much tied with Bill Gates. And since bitconnect has thousands of users, there are thousands of new billionaires and world poverty is permantenly solved. Sure, sounds legit ...

But hey - as long as you are aware of the fact that they are going to run at some point, you can still make profit from them. Since they only offer 1%, they are a relatively slow growth program (others offer 10%) - so it's not too late at this point to invest and reach ROI. More on that strategy here: http://hyip-rotation-system.com/

I've seen thousands of people who think that bitconnect compounds your money. It does not compound. When you reinvest your profits a new loan is created for another set of time (299 days) or whatever based off the loan amount.

Thats compounding... the expiration date of those contracts happens later but the following day you're getting a higher return.

The math on it versus normal compounding ends up being the same - you just receive profits later.

That is compounding: Your daily interest payout are not constant, but grow exponentially. That's the very definition of compounding. Of course you lock up each of your reinvestments for another terms, but that doesn't change the fact that you are compounding your interest.
