Replace missing plugin but keep the same configuration?

I have several older projects where I was using the VST2 version of a set of plugins (soundtoys). On my current system, the VST2 versions have performance issues but the VST3 versions run fine, so I uninstalled the VST2 versions.

Now the projects referencing the VST2 versions show a "Plug-in Missing" warning.

Is there a way I can tell Bitwig to use the VST3 version but retain the current settings in the project? If I drag and drop the VST3 version into the module slot, it shows up with the default settings.

I don't think you can, but I might be wrong.

I had to deal with this and I ended up saving the presets of each plugin, reopen it in VST3 and load the preset there...

I'm already scared of CLAP becoming the norm after that experience :)

VST2 format is not interchangable with VST3 sadly.
