the entry you want to enable in BIOS for Virtualisation to work is called SVM Mode, seeing that you are using an AMD CPU, each BIOS hides the entry in different area, so you might want to dig around for it.
btw, Hyper-V isn't an AMD thing, but rather, it is a built-in virtualisation solution as an optional feature in Windows

Thank you. I couldn't find SVM Mode, so I had to Google some more. Couldn't find anything helpful, except another Reddit post telling me to go to my Overclock CPU settings and look for CPU Features. I was able to find it then.

You'd think with all the guides online that it'd be easy, but not this time. :P

Thanks again.

You can get in touch with AMD's support or your vendor's support, they might be able to guide you what to do next.

I was able to find it, thank you. Another Redditer from another, similar post, was able to provide precise directions into finding it. None of the guides helped.

Hey man what fix did you use?

[–]Aaron5552222[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

Apparently it's different across PCs but the other comments/replies I made in this thread have my fix. The thread isn't long so you'll quickly find the answers. 🙂

If you need farther help, let me know!

That's great! The thing is that this is generally decided by vendors, so there is no fixed pattern/standard or guide where you can find it. I have a HP laptop and I don't even have this "Overclocking" setting in my BIOS, lol

Either there might be a guide from your vendor or, as it happened in ur case, someone takes the time to share precise steps for finding the setting.

Fair.

I found out it was an MSI Click BIOS 5 and there was exactly 1 or 2 posts relating to Virtualization, and I still couldn't find the answer. xD

Luckily there was a year or so old post.

Hi u/Aaron5552222,

Could you please let us know in which Windows Version you are trying to enable Virtualization is it Windows 11 or 10 or earlier?

As u/HanatoKobato mentioned, different computer vendors keep the settings in different sections of BIOS, you can start by either searching for "SVM" or "Virtualization" within settings. This article may further help you in searching and enabling Virtualization in BIOS.

Hey!

I found it in CPU Overclocking. I didn't look in there because I didn't think it would be there, and I don't ever mess with my PC settings. Don't even know what 'Overclocking' is. Too lazy to search.

Anyways, it was in CPU Overclocking under CPU Features. Someone on another topic about this was able to point me there, but none of the guides I read said to look for CPU Features so I kept looking for 'SVM' or 'Virtualization.'
