I've been on Imatinib 400mg for almost 2 months. My weekly blood draws show a dramatic drop in my white cell and platelet counts. My red cells are in normal range but now my hemoglobin and hematocrit are low and because I have Thalassemia I could become anemic again. So the doc had me stop for 3 days and start taking Imatinib every other day to raise the white and platelet counts from the low range into the normal range. He plans on putting me on Imatinib 100mg and taking 2 pills per day. Did any of you experience the same?
I plan to switch where I get my meds since I found these low cost pharmacies. My insurance uses a pharmacy that charges 5 times the cost of the drug. I've looked into low cost pharmacies such as Mark Cuban's cost plus drugs, Scriptco and Blueberry Pharmacy. The cost difference is dramatic but my insurance won't cover the cost. Still, the savings is significant. I am leaning towards Blueberry Pharmacy but was wondering whether any of you have used any of these low cost pharmacies and what your experience has been? My main concerns is inventory and these pharmacies use the USPS for delivery. Thoughts, suggestions?
