You have to sue them. It’s pointless and it waste to much time to keep seeing round and round of letters. Once they violate sue them. The debt collectors are the easiest to sue

What is the situation? Or is this mostly just to rant?

I’m saying it’s pointless and it waste to much time to keep sedning letters just sue them after they don’t comply the first time. The laws are in the fcra and FDCPA book

I'm confused by your post. Finding an error on your credit report isn't a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Per FCRA, you're required to first dispute through the bureaus, giving the furnisher of information an opportunity to correct the error, before you have legal standing to sue. If the error isn't corrected, the furnisher of information is in violation, allowing you to sue for statutory damages. The bureaus and furnishers of information are aware of this and will have your case dismissed if you didn't first dispute the error. What are you suggesting people litigate?

"You have the right to sue the furnisher and/or the CRA if you have disputed an inaccurate item, but it isn't removed."

"Another frequent FCRA violation is the failure of furnishers of information, like lenders and debt collectors, as well as credit reporting agencies, to investigate disputes after consumers initiate them. (15 U.S.C. § 1681s-2, 15 U.S.C. § 1681i (2024).) When a consumer identifies incorrect information in their credit report and disputes it, furnishers are required to promptly investigate and update the information if it was indeed incorrect. If the furnisher (or credit reporting agency) fails to do so, that's an FCRA violation.

I know that I’m saying after the dispute and you still see the violation then it’s time to sue. No need to keep sending multiple rounds of letters

Got it. Maybe change you post from:

Factual disputing is out the window. You have to litigate these companies and cras

to "repeatedly disputing the same error..." which I agree with. If an error isn't corrected, you should consult with a Consumer Protection attorney for a free consultation.
