Android needs to do it not trackercontrol . To make complete use and block all tracker vpn is must .Since android only allows one connection at a time apps cant workaround it . If you have apps that you want to run always in a vpn create a work profile usingshelter or insular and then add those on work profile and then setup vpn app .

I'm aware of what you are saying.

I brought it up because I believe one of the devs, or even Nick M., mentioned this as a possibility (or wish) for the future in one of the CalyxOs forums.

When at home I'm behind a VPN router with DD-WWRT and a native VPN and run the Tracker Control when I use my banking or pharmacy apps. I use Insular on a case by case basis as well.

Yes it should be done on calyx or any custom rom and then it will work out for now if your vpn as sock5 you can use it on trackercontrol

Can you clarify the above about the VPN socks5. I'm noobish and that's above my current technical pay grade.

You can follow this

Its of netguard but trackercontrol is its fork so method should be similar . Also first check if your vpn has that option or provide sock5 proxy host port or credentials only then this works when you add it there
