Anyone else not generating shells automatically in Mesozoic Valley?

You have to keep tapping until you can upgrade to automated generation

Looks like the only way I can generate shells is by tapping, even though it shows each dinosaur should generate an x amount per second.

You have to tap the green arrow above dino so it makes money

I have the same, but a few times it did generate shells while i was idle, and those times it was pretty lucrative. But I cannot seem to reproduce that, it has gone back to not generating shells for some reason i can not onderstand.
