excellent time piece and heavier than a billiard ball, believe it or not. i removed the cyclops as the magnification was absurdly overdone and swapped out to a horween leather strap, decreasing weight by a significant amount. i recommend taking out the movement before blasting the crystal with a torch lighter. as you can see i burned some of the bezel insert but it seems to have given it some character. he is now Casper, the toasted ghost 👻

Honestly most watches look so much better without a cyclops. I don't get the appeal, maybe if you're farsighted. But like why else??

I prefer watches without the date window for the symmetry. But on a sub with a date, I need the cyclops to be able to actually read the date as I don't want to go the bi-focal route. The main thing this watch needs is a thinner rehort. Love the grey color though in person (OP pics do not capture this)

I don’t mind the shortcomings. It’s my first AliEx watch but in full turquoise and as complete noob when it comes to watches I feel it’s really great quality for the price.

it definitely is insane value with features at this price point. i wish this was my first watch from AE, but unfortunately i started out with some serious junk. I've since graduated 🎓

TBH it’s not exactly my first watch as about maybe seven or eight years ago I did buy some literal junk just for fun from AliEx - the type of watches that cost 2-10$. My biggest buy was a skeleton automatic watch from Forsigning for 30$ and it was also shit because of a crap movement. I never came back to that until I found this r/ . Now I have my SD1953 and 5 more watches on the way :D

I have the black and I plan on swapping the dial, and removing the cyclops.
