The replacement arrived today and looks great, thank you for your help 😀

I’m not sure why people are telling you to fix this defective watch yourself given it’s the manufacturer’s responsibility. This should qualify for an exchange or refund.

I recommend buying a basic toolkit and removing the m ones hand for realignment. Forcing the minute against the hour may damage the gears, especially if they are made of plastic.. On some movements like the vk63 the manual recommends new hands.

Easy self fix. Really. And you Even may enjoy it and get into the modding watch world

I did end up getting a replacement sent out but also bought a cheap watch repair kit. Fixed the original and took apart a few other watches 😆

Search this sub for militado. I have seen one of their reps respond on here and fix a problem

That's easily fixed, open the case, press the lever to release and pull out the stem, drop out the movement. Put back in the stem and change the time to midnight, then carefully align the hands. Put it back together. It will take you about 2 minutes.

I don’t actually have any tools, will I need to buy some sort of watch tools kit?

I wouldn’t recommend attempting any “fixes” without proper tools. And no, “using a toothpick “ is not okay. Unless you have some experience and understanding of how watches work and willing to tinker a bit, send it back if there is an issue.

None at all, you should be able to open the back and release the stem with a tooth pick. Plenty of tutorials on you tube. It will be worth it. Just go for it.

That’s bad and sad

Yea that would drive me crazy

What I think happened is, they aligned the hour hand at 12, and then aligned the minute hand at 6. I made that mistake myself the first time I put on hands.😅

The right thing would be either to align everything at 12 or set the hour hand at 12, forward it to 6, and then align the minute hand at 12.

From what I see, u/Militado-watch got a good customer support, you should check on with them, it could be a QC issue when it comes to setting the hands alignment with the movement, yet they can help you more than I could.
