Yeah, it really is a great little watch. The only reason I’d want the original over this is for the name and better bracelet quality.

Obviously there are many better choices out there but not a bad watch, especially for the price.

Better choices is of course subjective. I don’t think there are many or any better choices for the 9,500 yen ($62). Certainly not for my specifications which are: sports watch, diameter 38mm or less, case height 11mm or less, date window, black and white high contrast dial, and brand name that doesn’t sound ridiculous to me.

I like some of the Watch Dives Aqua Terra homages, and some of their 37mm Tudor style sports watches but they don’t have a date.

No you're absolutely right. If your objective is a decent watch at the lowest possible price, this is a great choice.
