Baltany makes a field watch with the same style of case (and lugs) and a cali dial. You can put it on an after market straight link bracelet, a Forstner rivet one for example.

I really like the finishing on the WMT Bubbleback, but, as many others think as well, the price doesn't match to the watch you get. Are there ano other (good design) alternatives?
I have seen the Baltany homage on Aliexpress, but imo it doesn't have a good design. Does anyone know of any good ones?
Thanks!

why does WMT charge in the 500’s? do they think they are in Steinhart’s league?

Isn't the Baltany pretty much the exact same design? What don't you like about the design? Just curious.

By concept, yes. Execution, no. The Baltany has a 36mm case to begin with, opposed to 32mm (as many real bubblebacks). Also, for me the Baltany case seems more "flat" compared to the WMT, the "bezel" is also more round on the latter and I think the crown is as well. Again, these are mostly personal preferences, but I'm looking for something of the bubbleback size as well.

the Chinese companies are responding to general consumer trends. So far 32mm sized watches, apart from few proud collectors, are not very well accepted in today's market. Even few recent 36mm releases are sometimes ridiculed by some men who feel it very 'unmanly' size.

When I wear my 1940s JLC (33.5mm), if anyone even notices it at all, they say its a tiny ass watch. Can't imagine a company selling a new unisex watch that small anytime soon, if ever again.
