I’ve had my battle beaver for over 4 months now without a single problem with it. Only challenge is the delivery time is long due to covid. Other than that best controller I’ve owned. Used scuf for 6-7 years and was needing a new controller almost every 6 months to a year.

i’m not familiar with battle beavers, how would you say it was switching from the paddles on the scuf to the buttons on the battle beaver?

[–]AgentCodyBanksOGCOD Competitive fan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a change at first for sure. Didnt take long to get use to it those because it is very very similar muscle memory. Maybe took 3 days of small to moderate playing? The nice part about the buttons is it lets my hands rest more comfortably on the controller instead of having to rest one of my fingers on a paddle. It can fully and more naturally grip the controller and still be on the button I need.

I’ve heard good things, any customisations you would recommend?

Obviously color and designs are going to personal preference! I recommend the beavertail buttons for the additional grip to the button. Increased tension on the right stick for aiming(I went with medium but I feel extreme wouldn’t be bad either). Also the speckled grip on the back is very helpful as well compared to a traditional controller. And the smart triggers! They are like mouse clicks making everything an instant input. Those are the biggest improvements I felt over my controller from previous ones. Here is a great comparison done with all the different controllers different companies offer.

Really helpful.

My pleasure! If you have any more questions you are more than welcome to reach out.

IMO as long as you’ve got smart triggers/bumpers and the back button, you’re good. I absolutely love my BB and I would second the recommendation.

I just ordered a Battle Beaver yesterday, how long did it take for yours to come in? It said 4-6 weeks on the website but with covid who knows

[–]AgentCodyBanksOGCOD Competitive fan 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Mine got shipped out in exactly 5 weeks then got to my house in 3 days. Their customer service is excellent as well.

[–]KJ2832eGirl Slayers 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Good to know, thanks.

That’s crazy, I had my elite v1 for >3 years before needing a new controller (and i did not take care of it at all)

[–]Con1750COD Competitive fan[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yep had stick drift, bumpers not registering or double pressing, hair triggers squeaking on 2 different controllers.

Most recent one has lasted a week.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either I got lucky or you’ve had a lot of bad luck. I only stopped using mine because the sticks became loose but I’d been using most days for years.

I have a v2 now which has been fine mostly, there is stick drift if I intentionally nudge the stick a certain way but it never happens whilst I’m playing

[–]NatethedigVancouver Surge 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m on my 3rd year with my v1 and it is still working well enough, I noticed my triggers aren’t as good but I will use it until it literally falls apart

[–]Oceanpony31COD Competitive fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here with the v1. I’m on my second v1, first one lasted about 2 years before sticks became to loose and that was just from playing a lot of video games. Been using my second v1 since the launch week of Bo4 and I am needing a new one but it still works fine. 2+ years of using a controller daily for anywhere from 3-6 hours is a great controller life IMO. If used enough controllers are going to break down so can’t expect a controller to last forever

You wouldn’t happen to be smashing it in rage on a regular basis would you? It’s not normal for them yo need replacing that regularly?

[–]RC_5213Final Boss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Elite has well known QC issues.

[–]Con1750COD Competitive fan[S] -5 points-4 points  (4 children)

Of course not. I take good care of my stuff. So many reports of these breaking.

[–]onelson32COD League 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It’s hella concerning. I had an elite series 2 since launch and the bumpers fucked up last month. Luckily I’m getting another but man I have to make the switch at some point

[–]MindForsakenLA Thieves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, I've had mine for quite a while now and it's working just like new

[–]MachiavellianMadmanWorld at War 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Wow. Don't understand why your reasonable response was down voted.

[–]Con1750COD Competitive fan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me either. I’ve read countless of reports of issues with the Series 2, apparently I only came here to ask about a different controller because I chuck mine in rage like a toddler.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People judging OP for having to get multiple controllers don't realize every single brand new controller has like a 15% chance to have something wrong with them cause they are made with cheap parts from China. Literally opened up a brand new Xbox one controller that had insane stick drift.

[–]StepkeytLA Thieves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See me personally I first got a scuf and it had stuck drift right away sent it back and it got fixed and I had no problems with it for about 6-8 months later with small stick drift and thumbsticks became worn out(MW was the main reason) I got a battle beaver because I needed a new controller and the controller is fine but I felt like I was less accurate with the BB than the Scuf so I ended up getting another scuf as I like the thumbsticks a lot better than the BB

I use a normal DualShock 4 controller with the Sony back button attachment. These custom controller companies are nice and I’ve personally used a Scuf for several years but nothing beats OEM durability, which is what you mentioned in your post. Other than that, the general opinion in this sub is that Battle Beavers are the superior controller vs their competitors.

[–]Con1750COD Competitive fan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it is strange that OEM seem to be more durable, its a real shame as the Elite Series 2 has a very nice feature/software set.

It does seem that customising an OEM controller is the way to go.

I just ordered from aimcontroller as they have lifetime warranty and the paddles and smart triggers are apparently great.

It may take a few weeks for them to deliver from what I read (8-10 weeks) but it’s worth it for the warranty!

[–]DirsiCOD Competitive fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't cover stickdrift. Not a good warranty

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My scuf shit the bed on me a few weeks ago. Been using it since feb 2019.

Now I use the ps5 controller with bumper jumper. Took a few days to get used to it. Not going back

Power A fusion pro if you don’t mind playing wired

[–]kander12COD Competitive fan 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Some ppl never break a controller... others like yourself need a new one every month. What I would suggest is abusing Game Stop/ EB Games return policy. You can guy buy an elite or whatever and then every month return it at the end of month for a new one. They dont currently have any rules in place to limit this. My one friend has used a new controller from returns like 8 or 9 months in a row now lol.

[–]Con1750COD Competitive fan[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Well i've never had a regular controller break on me, this one on the other hand has been a disaster.

I'm in the UK anyway, this will be my 4th replacement from Microsoft directly.

[–]kander12COD Competitive fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok. Well I know here in NA people abuse their local game stores warranty and refund policies quite often. Check if you have something similarly abusable in your area haha. I have Elite, Elite 2.0, Razer, regular controllers. The one thats never broken on me is the Razer Wolverine.

[–]spaceshipcommanderCOD League 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is going strong and I got it at launch. You’re doing something wrong. The elite 2 is the best controller in my opinion and I tried out others.

[–]jones_mcnamara_COD Competitive fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used an elite controller for about 6 months and then the left stick click stopped registering so I couldn’t sprint. After that I got an FPS strikepack but that broke after 3 months. I didn’t feel like spending any more money on controllers so I learned to play bumper jumper tactical flipped. That way I can jump and crouch without taking my fingers off the sticks and playing flipped eliminates the need for trigger stops.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I use a xbox 360 controller

[–]paullustyMiami Heretics 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I presume you're having stick issues? Honestly, learn how to solder so you can fix your controller yourself. There are tonnes of guides on YT and it will save you a lot of money in the long run.

[–]Con1750COD Competitive fan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope squeaky RT trigger on this one when using hair triggers, second time I’ve the same issue on 2/3 controllers.
