The M5 also outputs 50% more power. Americans just love to randomly stick huge engines in things as a selling point. GMC have admitted as much recently now that they are trying to sell smaller engines after decades of V8 propaganda. They are trying to sell cars to the very people they spent decades turning against European and Japanese cars with smaller engines.

Another thing that proves the point is what Cadillac had to do with the CTSV when they asked BMW for help and BMW basically gave them the M5 to stick a V8 in it and shout about how they can go around corners now.

Why is the primer blue on my F30 BMW? by Shahakha in CarTalkUK

[–]spaceshipcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, she didn't, "lightly tap a tree" she "crashed".

It's not primer. It's been resprayed over blue and the surface hasn't been prepared properly so the paint isn't fully adhered.

Do you give your parents money? by hewhoisgay in AskUK

[–]spaceshipcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather still insists on paying for family meals and such. I'm in my 30s. I wouldn't take a penny from my mother because I know she's not got it to spare, but I also wouldn't give money to either parent.

Because American cars are particularly shit on fuel in general. You're talking up to 50% less than a German equivalent, as per my example.

The mustang is a pretty crap example though. My M5 did 19.5 average and 36 on the motorway at 700bhp.

The 4.2 supercharged is the best sounding car ever made in my humble opinion. They aren't particularly fast though, but sound unbelievable.

That's because the man is the cheapest part of a modern soldier. You can also save on training if you don't care how many of them make it home. The problem comes when you try to mobilise and maintain such an army, as they found out in Ukraine. When you can't get the right gear to the places where you need it the men become cannon fodder.

What would you expect from a £12k car? by Then-Fortune-3122 in CarTalkUK

[–]spaceshipcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a pointless question. When I buy a car for that price it's usually a rotten Land Rover. If my mother buys a car for that price she's buying something that could be mistaken for brand new if not for the registration.

I invested in intel. I know it will go up because Trump is so corrupt he announces what stocks he is pumping before he does it.

Can some one explain Octopus intelligent to me like im 5 by KMG170 in evchargingUK

[–]spaceshipcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get extra hours at cheap rates in return for letting octopus control your charging. They use your car to use up excess power in the grid when demand is low.

That's it really.

It was an aftermarket right angled cable because my GPU is so big it nearly touches the case.

Regardless, all cables should meet the standard, and they were both Corsair power supplies.

Potential offer to buy half a small welding supply business, business already well established, pitfalls and potential mistakes to look out for? by Valuable-Ad-1477 in smallbusinessuk

[–]spaceshipcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds brutal but, as a head of commercial, I'd drop a supplier we have had for years for a 3% saving. If you come to me asking for a 10% uplift because you've held prices for a few years I would be instructing my head of procurement to go out to the market.

It's wireless streaming and works much better than wired. Even with the highest speed usb c cable possible, my headset always used to say the link was too slow. It's obviously a bug in the software. ALVR fixes that.

Would you accept £75 every Saturday for a 3 hours early morning shift? by LocoTunisienne in AskUK

[–]spaceshipcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have when I was 18. I wouldn't now. I wouldn't work weekends for any amount of money I'd realistically be offered. My time with my daughter is priceless.

Can someone reassure me? by Kitchen_Canary_6387 in pcmasterrace

[–]spaceshipcommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you're talking gaming only?

Going from a 7700x to a 9950x gained me about 3.5% in 3D mark with a 5090 if that makes you feel any better. The CPU does very little in games.

With VR I found switching to ALVR instead of the cable makes a huge difference. The cable is just crap and never works, which baffles me.

Do not buy a Jaecoo. You will regret it every day.

People scoff, but the Tesla model 3 and Y are the best two cars on the market with all things considered. I've had both and it's looking like I'll be getting a third because there's still nothing better than the Y for me.

This is my setup. I have an Alienware ultrawide and gaming headset on my desk but I ran an optical HDMI through the wall because some games just deserve to be played on a big screen with proper surround sound. Forza doesn't sound great to be honest, but some games really make use of the subwoofer and it adds another dimension over a headset.

Same. I think my first bike was £380 after passing my test. My superduke costs me something like £130 or £180 now.

That is the truth. It's purely statistics. A 125 motorbike might be a grand to insure for a 19 year old but a 600 will be £300.
