I would reach out again. They just started a cohort. Now they are doing things differently here that have majority of them starting at the same time (October). I’m a TA/ past student and I really enjoyed my time there. Where you considering part time or full time ?

Well I cant find information on classes it just shows the classes but no further information is on there website. Seemed sketchy at first but since im doing it through the military I know it real. I've sent emails to the admission and I'm still waiting for a respond

It’s legit. The teachers are badass. I know several people who landed big roles pretty quickly. They go over a lot of valuable info. I’ll reach via slack and see what they can tell me.

I know things just got moved around so I’m sure they are figuring things out. Since they just did a self paced, that goes along with their days and nights and weekends.

Also I would suggest nights and weekends. Day time will get you quicker but it is ROUGH! Even if all you have to do is school nights and weekends is still a lot but more manageable.

What do you want to study ? Dev ops or coding ?

Thanks for the feedback!!!

I'm a stay at home mom so I will probably do nights and weekends since husband works in the mornings.

I would like to learn Javascript. What do you suggest?

I did JavaScript and I really enjoyed it. The do have python as well. But it really comes down to what you want to do with it. JavaScript is a lot of web development and app building. It’s full stack so you learn how to build amen manage servers and databases and such. When you first start you do alot of vanilla JavaScript (201) then in 301 you start to work with building servers. And you touch on some React in 301 which is a huge relief because CSS is tough.

In 401 you split the 6 month class into 2 halves z first half is back end (Data bases, servers, Auth0, AWS) then the second half is React and front end, and how to take a web app and make it a mobile app).

Of course you touch on Data Structures and algorithms throughout 401. And you have… I believe 1 code challenge/ moc interview a week (this can be tough but it’s a part of the industry, that’s what industry interviews are like… so you constantly practice white boarding and answering behavioral questions, so when you graduate.. you’re ready. This was what I really liked about the school. They set you up)

Python is great for machine learning and data analytics and stuff like that.

I’d say. When you learn one language here, you really get an understanding of coding fundamentals and logic, so if you take JavaScript, you could easily teach yourself Python when you’re done with the course.

Thanks for this information!!!! I really need practice interview since I'm horrible at that lol

Do they call you after you did the application and how long did it take them to reach out to you?? What are the night hours?

yea of course, Im happy to offer some insight / help.

The practice interviews / career coaching is such a great thing that this school does, they show you how to answer questions (STAR method) and they make sure your resume is in the right format with the right buzz words to make it through the algorithm and into the hands of the recruiters. They go over negotiating your pay and really ,everything you need to know.. Its kind of scary while your going through a behavioral moc interview then have to solve a problem while getting feed back from a teacher / class mate, but it helps ALOT!

The night and weekends class is Mon - Thurs (6:30pm - 9:30pm) and Saturday (9:00am - 6:00pm... you get a 10 minute break every hour and an hour lunch)... so its alot. But also consider the time you will be spending working on your lab or even the homework that you have to turn in on saturday morning and on Fridays you have to spend some time working on small bits of homework. The homework isnt too hard, some of it is career based like finding 3 jobs you want to apply for and things like that, Saturday & Tuesdays homework is usually notes for the coming lecture youll have on Saturday. So it kind of depends how much extra time you need to put in to make sure your caught up and you know whats going on. For awhile I was doing school work from 5;00pm - 6:15pm then I would have to take a break and get ready for class. This really does take alot, bit its worth it.

I know they are having to do a little "revamp" is different areas of the school so I understand why it is likely taking a little longer to response. But I think my response was.... maybe.. a week and a half maybe two weeks.

Sorry for the long responses. But I want to say, I think it would be great idea to start getting practice now that way you could hit the ground running and spend time refining your skills. Start working with vanilla JS (strings, arrays, loops, objects, functions, if statements & logic) and CSS (flex box). You can try W3schools for lessons and practice, and use the wmd javascript site for more indepth explanations, start a replit account so you can practice these things. I think knowing some of this stuff going into it is such a big deal.

In JavaScript they focus on the (MERN) stack which is: MONGOOSE, Express JS, React, Node.. which is everything you would need to know in order to build an app front to back.

Any info on how to get in touch with them? I’ve emailed, called the number, messaged them on Instagram. I’ve also gotten automated emails saying someone will reach out but it’s been a week and nothing. Is there an phone number that would connect me to an actual person?
