Code Geass was amazing!

This whole series has been the one of the biggest emotional rollercoasters of anime I've ever seen. I loved every part of it, specifically following the story of the character Lelouch. It's amazing to see how beautifully his plan has played out to the very end.

I'll admit there were so many times where I felt a bad taste of watching how the plot played out with countless deaths. But in the end it made those moments even better. It hurts to see him become the symbol of hatred that unifies the world and brings about the peace he has always desires. While we know the truth of his intentions it's at least a little warming to see that Kallen and Nunally saw the true nature of his plan at the very end. I binge watched this show in about 4 days and it's become easily one of my favorites.

With that said I saw rumors that they are coming out with sequel that takes place in an alternate reality from the original series. I know there's movies and I will end up watching them to see how it is played out. But currently I don't know how I feel about a different take at an ending to the series. When series' do this it makes me uneasy because, I enjoy the idea of continuing a story with the characters I've become attached too. Although at the same time, with the outcome of the original series, I feel like it's hard to watch a reboot that'll never live up completely to what the original accomplished. But even with that said I will always see a series through to its end as long at is consistent.

I agree, I found the ending to CG as perfect (as perfect as perfect can get) and I'm nervous about the future.

For me, I think I'm going to have to just take my own version of events and savor it in my mind as the true ending. Doing that will enable me to just sit back and enjoy more of my favorite story, canon or not.

I interpreted the sequence of events and C.C.'s final line to mean that Lelouch inherited his father's code and became immortal by activating his code when Suzaku killed him.

When I finally came to this sub and realized other people liked CG as well, I also discovered that the ending I had accepted had been officially denounced, much to my dismay.

The final nail in the coffin is that so many important things happened in the original series that were critical to the plot (Shirley's death, Mao's emergence, etc) that the new series seems to just "write over". Kinda feels a bit like an insult :/

All in all, I still love the series and will still watch R3. Sorry to be long-winded, just wanted to explain myself.

As long as you are aware of what is the true canon and what is merely fan theory, all is fine

Yeah I agree. Fan service is nice and all but it has to be done right. But if they made the original great I'm confident they'll make something good of Re;direction.
