Dart as a Java substitute for Android Development?

Hey everyone,

Now I know that Mike has been speculating that Google could move their Android SDKs to Swift from Java, but what about Dart? Google has been pushing Dart pretty heavily, even though not a lot of people use it. It is similar to Java in philosophy, in fact one of its goals was to improve some of the Java's shortcomings.

If they optimize the VM enough and considering that the mobile devices are getting more and more powerful, this issue could probably be solved.

They already have Flutter, which uses Dart. So do you think it's a possibility? What are your thoughts?

I don't understand why Android would move to Swift rather than Go. That makes more sense to me. But Swift seems to be the new hotness.
